May 3, 2006 - See You in Two Years, Elder!

A tough day for the family as we fake-smiled our way through the morning. Let's just say the whole MTC experience -- where the family goes one way, and the missionary goes the other way -- is gut-wrenching. Yuck. Why can't it be less-sad, less-painful. With only one down and 3 (possibly 4) more to go, don't know how other parents do it. Sending off our first-born isn't easy, but Dad and Mom are so grateful for Hema's wonderful example to brothers, extended family, and friends. Pretty sure his example will impact Helam, (possibly) Hevynn, Houston & Harrison's mission decisions.

The day started off with just our little family, best friend Jordan, and the Lopez boys. Our last family breakfast all together for a couple of years...

Cousin Tama and his baby sister Kuuipo showed up at the MTC to say goodbye to Elder Heimuli

Hema, 12-year old sister Hevynn, and Isaac Lopez pose for one last pic together

What other missionary would take a pic like this right before entering the MTC? So funny!
