April 10, 2007 - Happy 20th Birthday! Where are they?

WELL, Im so happy that the kids are interested in Ammon, Alma, and the other sons of Mosiah... so heres what Im going to do, Every week, Ill try to include some interesting stories that happen to one missionary, Hema son of Lakei, from the land of Bountiful, and his preaching to the Lamanites.

But first, this past Wednesday I got that HUGE birthday present! Thank you so much, Elder Lebron was so surprised and happy! He says... well, he says alot of things, but to make it short, thank you. Well, this week was quite a rollercoaster of emotions.... ive never been so deeply depressed and exstatically happy in the same week!!

So the begginig of the week was cool, except that on Wednesday I got my package, but had to wait til Monday to read the letters and cards, by the way, I thought the cards that say To My Grandson, were freaking hilarious. So, friday, is the day of interviews for baptisms... We had 6 baptisms lined up for that weekend. But two tell us that they cant make it, one said that she didnt want to get baptized, and the other said that he HAS TO WORK!!! So, we waited the inerviews... and late at like 8:00 Tthe last 3 invetigators show up. I was sure if they were going to, but they all passed the interview. So, Saturday comes, and we are at the chapel waiting for our baptisms to show up..6:30 a half hour before the time we were supposed to start, two show up, the mom and the dad. I ask, WHERE IS YOUR SON?! They are all like, I dont know, he left to play soccer... I was like, oh... no he´s not, so the Elders Heimuli and Lebron took off, in order to track this little punk down, and drag him to hte church... we were praying the whole time we were running, looking for him..at about 7:05 or so, we find him.. he was walking around in the street, in shorts, and in a tanktop, with his friends. So we were like, say goodbye, youre coming with us. We go to the church, and luckily our 2 others are still there and the other showed up, and the baptisms of the other elders are there also. So we brought our 4 baptisms to the font, and dunked them.... I was kinda mad when my comp baptized the dad, who smacked the dads head against the back of the font. I was like, HOW many months in the mission do you have? Well, the baptism ended late, and the first part was over. The problem down here, is that no matter how many times we explain, the investigators forget that they need the holy ghost, so we usually go out and remind them... sunday, we get to the church, thinking that eventuallly they all will show up. Becuase our sacrament meeting is last, through preisthood I was like, yeah... they ll get here. Then through sunday school, I thought, anytime now... but when sacrament meeting started I was like WHERE ARE THEY!! 3 of them show up, the mom tells us that the son, again, now doesnt want to get baptised, he likes being with his freinds in the Great and Abominal Catholic Church... so I started to pray, and of course, the Big Guy comes through.. so everyone came... and at the end of sunday came my day of rest...

We didnt do too bad, 4 baptisms this week, nest week, were going to try to get 3 more.. well, that was my week. Thank you for all the funny cards, and the money and the camera!! Im being extra careful with this one. The little kids here love the bubbles!! Its great to see them laugh. Well, take care, love you all!!

there are some pics here, one of the baptism, one of me in the cyber today, and one of me in my new house in Quevedo..
