WOW!!!! Im sooo excited! Thank you for the christmas presents, havent gotten a package yet, but Im looking forward to them! Im excited for Tama! An Elder Rodriguez is from there, he came with me from Babahoyo, and Hes a really good friend of mine! Ill give him the lowdown and write back Tama!! Wow, I hope that they know what theyre in for... Its so wonderful, and at the same time, Its really really hard. Im glad to hear what Hma Ridd said, I hope Im working hard enough... last week, Pres Ridd gave us the challenge to find 30 people to teach, We only were able to find 21. We worked hard, but I guess not hard enough. Im so excited to hear form everyone when I get their letters, I hope the old STNCRKWRD are doing good.. I got an email from Hma Carly Mooy, she said that shes doing good and says that its really cold out there. She also says that ukrainian is really hard, and I complain that spanish is hard...
So, Manta is cool. THeres a huge flea market kindsa thing out here, and im collecting some cool stuff to send home, Im going to send it im the next week or so, because theres not enough time to buy, package, and send this stuff before Dad comes.... uh, tomorrow. ITs pretty good place to work, it is really sunny and bright, I burned my right eye a little a week ago, i forgot my sunglasses that day.... haha, im okay now. There are a couple of families that we are teaching, and we are tryin gto put dates, but one chica cant get baptized even though shes a strong church goer, poderosa, her mom wont let her get baptized...yet. Other family wants to wait til they know more, bu t they are really ready, they just ned to put their faith into action.
Other than that, elder campos and I are trying to find preisthood holders, that means reactivating, and finding men... which is not very easy, especially when reactivating means that your numbers dont grow, and men are never home during the day, and are usually drunk during the evening.
Other than that, Im doing great.. I hope everyone is doing fine, and Im planning to send some stuff to you guys for christmas they arent really cool, just some things that the natives here make, the people are called OTAVALEÑOS... theyre cool. Well, I have to go now, but thank you for everything MOM, you dont know how much it means, especially at the end of every weekend when we feel like we are going to crack!! Thanks Mom!!

Hi Son,
Well, Dad, Hevynn and Houston are on their way to Ecuador! Grandpa dropped them off at the airport this morning at 5AM. They'll fly to Atlanta and have a 4-hour layover, then on to Quito and another layover, then they will arrive in Guayaquil just after midnight tonight. They will stay at the Grand Hotel -- tomorrow Elder Holt will drive the mission truck to the hotel to pick everything up. They brought 4 large bins and 2 roller bags. There is one gray plastic bin and that one is just for you. Be sure you and your companion pick it up as soon as you can. I understand that the Ridds will be in Manta on Nov 30 for interviews, so they could bring it to you if you call and ask them nicely, but the Simons' famous homemade oreo cookies are in there in an airtight container. If you don't think they'll last that long, call the mission home and have the elders over there eat them for you. I wrote you a letter and put it in the tub but I want to make sure you know what's in there, so here goes. There are a bunch of letters and cards from us, Aunty Lani and Uncle Jr, G&G Murray, Goughs, and Jason and Monica Johnson. Boy, a lot of people love you! I had to tell folks I didn't have enough room to take everything from everyone but I packed what would fit. Be careful opening the envelopes -- I told everyone they did not need to send money but I'm sure nobody listened to me (as usual). I would deposit the money or tuck it away somewhere safe, okay? There are also bags of food for you, complements of Grandma (or should we call her "Spam-Ma"). There's a big bag full of individually wrapped candies and bubbles and toy cars for you to share with the kids, like you asked. There's also a big of non-food stuff which includes the new Joseph Smith dvd and there's an option for Spanish subtitles under "set up". The only thing in that tub which is not for you in a large plastic bag for Elder Campos. It says "Heimuli" on the bag but you'll notice a green envelope which says "Elder Campos." He also has a copy of the new Joseph Smith dvd, so that when you two split up, he will always have it. Show him how to turn on the Spanish subtitles, okay? You can give that to him -- it's your Christmas present to him. We just want you to know how much we love you, and that we're thinking of you this holiday season. We look forward to talking with you at Christmas.
Tama received his mission call! He's going to Guatemala and reports into the Guatemala MTC on March 28th. Exciting, huh? See what you've started? Yea!!! Thursday, I had a great parent-teacher conference with Houston's teacher. Did you know he got straight A's, and that's with 7th grade pre-algebra, 6th grade reading/English/science. He is above grade level in all his subjects so his teacher told me she barely sees him in her 4th grade class because he's always gone with the older classes. He still hates school but I told him we were proud of him anyways. Helam played Bountiful Jr High and won! But I guess everyone beats BJH. Dad went to the game and said he played really well, stuffing all the shooters, pulling down rebounds…if only he could shoot. And Dad, Helam and Houston went to the last BYU home game. They went early and got to go to the locker room, and stayed on the field while they team warmed up. Helam told us Lance Reynold made all his running backs line up and said, "I want you all to get in line, so I can introduce you to one of the best running backs ever." Helam laughed when Curtis Brown (who just clinched the Career Rushing Yards title with over 3,000 yds) shook dad's hand and said, "It's great to meet you, SIR." Talk about feeling old! In our ward, Dad said Kirk Gough was sustained as High Councilman…great, now he's going to have to try to make his talks long and boring instead of funny and cool like they were in SC Ward. Last night, Pres & Sis Ridd's daughter and son-in-law came over. We found out Dee went to NZ on his mission and his great-granddad A. Reed Halvorson was the NZ Mission Pres when grandpa was a young man! So, of course, Gramps talked Dee's ears off the whole time. They are such a cute couple.
Son, I hope all is going well. We are so happy to be able to bring everything to the mission home and hope all the missionaries feel the spirit of Christmas this year. We love you so very much.
I got an email from Sis Ridd this morning and here's what she said about you:
"We will be in Manta, where Elder Heimuli is currently serving, on Nov. 30th to do interviews there. We will personally give your wonderful son your message. He is a good, obedient missionary. I know you are proud of him, and you have every right to be."
We are so proud of you. Stay obedient to the mission rules, work hard, pray lots, and give Elder Campos our love. If you need anything, just let me know. PS, did you get our package in the mail yet? You'll easily notice it -- there's a Christmas tree in it!
Love lots,
MOM
