July 30, 2007 - WWWWAAAAAUUUUGHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Hi MOm!! First of all, thank you for the game ideas and stuff, I need them... I only have three FHE games that I use way too much. Thank you for putting me in contact with Uncle Hema and the rest of the fam!

Well, let me tell ya a little about Guayaquil: Its a good time, because its not too hot... and at night it gets a little cold. But im in a really rich part! Its a huge culture shock from the Quevedo and Babahoyo sectors that im used to. The people drive mercedes, and everyone has air conditioning, and everything! They are also, sadly, very proud. However, the members are very strong, and very nice.... they always give us soda and a little something to eat! :) So the only real challange is getting into the houses and teaching them so that they feel the spirit, because, my sector is conveniently placed around and airport. So I will usually be teaching; So, this young man Joseph Smith in the spring of 1820 decided to ask God, which church was the true church... and upon asking, he said:¨I saw a pllar of light, exactly over my head above the brightness of the sun. And this light descen.... WWWWAAAAAUUUUGHHHHH!!!!!!!! (Plane flying overhead).... two personages, whose brightness and glory defy all decription, one of them spake... WWWWAAUUUGHHHHH! ...yeah its pretty frustrating.

This last week was really great, we had CONSEJO which is a big meeting of all the Zone Leaders in the mission, we talk, and eat really good food, and find ways to get the mission pumped for missionary work. We had a very VERY good discourse by President Ridd (I love that guy!!) about excitement. He had elder Tupou, before the meeting, try to hold his arms out extended, with an elasting aerobic band under his feet. As he stood he tried to keep his arms extended outward for an amount of time. President Timed him, and much later in the Consejo, he asked Tupou to leave the room. While Tupou was gone, he told us, of how he timed Tupou before the Consejo, and how he was going to have Tupou do it again... but this time, he wanted us to encourage him, and get excited. So Tupou came out and President timed him again. We yelled, hollered and did everything we could to pump him up!! Tupous arms strained under the tension, but everytime we saw him weakening, we yelled and he quickley forced his arms back up to where they were. After he fnally could do no more, President told us that the first time, Tupou held the band for 1:00 min. But when he did it the second time (Which should have tired Tupou so that he would endure for less time the second time) Held it for like 1:30 or something, alot longer than before. It was a good lesson.

Then after Consejo, the following Saturday, we train the Zone, and give a training kinda thing. So I was pretty tired. In our zone we have 8 sister missionaries, what can I do to get them pumped up? Hermana Pecora, shes from Utah. Hermana Nelson is from Utah too. Hermana Vial is new and shes from Oregon or somethin, All the rest are from latin countries.

Well, that was my week, nothing too exciting. Houston doesnt want to play huh? Well, How about skateboard? Its actually a good way to excercise... and its fun! Maybe snowboard? It uses alot of stomache muscles to turn a snowboard (He could have rock hard abs)? He could be a swimmer, or maybe he could be a BMX-er. Have him bike everywhere, or have him take a paper route? Maybe he would like rock climbing! I dont know, there are alot of differant sports outside of grass that are fun. Just need to get him excited for one of them.. maybe he could go on a scout camp with the big kids when they go to rock climb. Find someone who is good at skateboarding and he could teach him? Those are my suggestions. Haha!! So Gough is going after a Nemelka huh? Haha, i tried that.. and look what happened. Well, everything is just peachey here in Guayaquil. Oh, i spent alot of money, Im sorry... i had to buy shoes, it was an emergency... my last pair unexpectedly died. Well, thank you so much for all that you do for me mom! Love ya!! Tell everyone hi for me!!
