Hi MOm!! Thanks for sending me this email, and for the great story... i hope you guys are being blessed, although for Dad houston and harrison, it doesnt look that way! But its funny,. if it makes them feel better this last week, i had the same thing, the puking from both ends, but im sure it was from something that i ate. Well, ive told everyone that Im calling on saturday the 23, but I think that It would be a great surprise to call on christmas day in the morning!!! So, like tell everyone that Im going to call like christmas eve at night or something, and instead ill call in the morning! Tell me what you think, While they all get their presents and stuff! So write back, and ill answer on thursday. Well, heres the deal, were skipping our pday today, so Im only going to write a little, and on thursday I´ll write more because my comp Campos is going to the dentist in Guayaquil. so instead of wasting money, were just going to stay up there. So, I will wrtite everyone more then... right now I have to go, so, ill talk to you a little later, Love YOu MOM!!

Hi Son,

Well, another week gone by -- what was the best thing about your week? We were busy just doing regular things. Top priority on our minds is coordinating when we get to talk to you for Christmas. What's going on in Manta? How are your reactivation efforts coming along? How did your interview with President Ridd go? I bet you're excited for the temple this Wednesday…and you can pick up your container, too! Look out for the homemade oreos from Sam Simons -- I hope they're still good. Dad put some money in your checking account for your phone call home, and I think he's going to put a little more in this weekend, just in case. Do you need anything? If so, please let me know.

I had a thought while reading other missionary mom's emails. I understand President sends his missionaries an email every week. If you want to forward them to me, I can print them out and keep them in a book for you, so that when you return you have some good letters to read. Actually, if there are any letters or photos you want me to print out, just email them to me and I'll save them for you.

I want to tell you of a great blessing we received last week. A blessing which I know is a result of your good work and obedience. We talked in FHE about having a scaled-back Christmas and the kids readily agreed. I don't know if I told you, but we told them they would only get one thing this year, so they could tell us what it was they wanted. Helam, of course, picked the most expensive gift (he's at that selfish teenager stage...but we still love him) -- a video iPod. Hevynn's "one" thing was "clothes." Nice, one thing, huh? And Houston was the best. He only asked for a cover for his scriptures. Anyways, I was blessed to get a good-sized recognition award from work during our year-end meetings in St George and I had saved it for Christmas. I was able to get everyone their "one" thing but you know how there are always little things I want to get like underwear and pajamas, etc., plus there was still our Christmas Eve family tradition of dinner at a nice restaurant and a movie. Well, I had decided we couldn't do all of that stuff. So last Tuesday, I was up at 5AM getting ready to leave for work. When I walked into the living room, I noticed an envelope taped to our window. I opened the door and pulled it off. Inside was a Christmas card which read "you have shown us that Christmas is not just once a year, but year-round" and inside were six $100 bills! It was so amazing. I said a grateful prayer and had a wonderful day. We sent you a package on Wednesday, hope you get it before Christmas. In it, Houston sent you all the money he had for Christmas -- he's so cute and so proud of his brother, Elder Heimuli. Helam & Hevynn brought home their midterm grades -- not good. Each of them has an F in keyboarding. If I weren't the mother of a missionary, I would have killed them both. I stayed home with Dad, Houston and Harrison who have a disease called riddles which is running rampant here and includes continuous vomiting and diarrhea. It's Harrison's 5th day, Dad's 4th, and Houston's 2nd, and I understand it takes 8-10 days to run its course. Saturday, Grandpa Murray came over to visit. Tamaiti is staying at Eagle Mountain now, so I think Grandpa just needed a break. Grandpa ended up sleeping over and coming to church yesterday.

We love you very much son. We are so proud of you and all the hard work you are doing. Work hard, and pray lots. The Lord is truly blessing our family at this wonderful time of year. Please let me know the details of your phone call (when) and if there's anything you need. I know Dad will look for an email from you tonight when he gets to work, he always does.

Love lots,
MOM
